Gilles Ametepe is one of Ghana's few policy-focused ecosystem leaders. He is co-founder of Ghana For Startups (GFS) where he oversees the policy positioning, international partnership-building and research efforts of the GFS, leading on its quest to position Ghana as Africa's leading startup-nation. In 2021, Gilles became the first African to be elected to the Board of Brussels-based startup policy network, Allied For Startups. He is known for "Ghana for startups: pivoting from a tourist attraction to a tech nation", considered by many as Ghana's ecosystem policy manifesto. He has advised ghanaian and foreign entrepreneurs and has mentored startups through MEST Africa, Ghana Tech Lab, Unleash and the Unicef Lab among others. He is a public relations strategist and an advocate of storytelling as a tool to promote Africa's innovation ecosystem.
